![]() ![]() The order and length of the first three seasons is inconsistent between official sources this list uses the "intended order" of the episodes as specified by co–executive producer Ian Jones-Quartey, which re-orders six episodes from the first two seasons compared to the broadcast order. A concluding limited series, Steven Universe Future, premiered on December 7, 2019, and ended on March 27, 2020. A television film, Steven Universe: The Movie, was released on September 2, 2019, following the fifth and final season. ĭuring the course of the series, 160 episodes of Steven Universe aired over five seasons, between November 4, 2013, and January 21, 2019. During the original run of the series, episodes of Steven Universe were variously broadcast once a week in blocks of multiple new episodes in the course of a week, marketed as "Stevenbombs" or back-to-back as specials with an umbrella title. The series revolves around Steven Universe (voiced by Zach Callison), who protects his hometown of Beach City alongside Garnet (voiced by Estelle), Amethyst (voiced by Michaela Dietz) and Pearl (voiced by Deedee Magno Hall), three magical alien guardians known as the Crystal Gems. Hence: Malachite has all arms, and no legs because she’s A fusion spawned entirely out of a need for power and control by two conflicting gems, who chose to have three sets of arms and no legs.Steven Universe is an American animated television series created by Rebecca Sugar for Cartoon Network. A gem fusion could choose to have extra sets of arms due to the influence of the mindset/choices of the gems taking part in the fusion. ![]() An excess of arms might not be necessarily impossible, and we know it isn’t a reliable way to know how many gems make up a fusion, because we’ve seen fusions with less arm sets than gems within, so more could definitely be possible! I f there are not enough gems to have those arms. We know that it’s possible for the amount of arms to differ from the amount of gems making up a fusion, and we also know that gems can choose their form and shape-shift. Lapis also fused because she saw the opportunity to control Jasper via the fusion, so she too wanted to be the powerful gem controlling Malachite. It had nothing to do with Lapis, she wanted Lapis’s power added to hers, but not her input. Jasper wanted to fuse so ~she~ could become stronger. Perhaps Malachite has three sets of arms and no legs due to the sheer need to control the fusion by both gems. Which strikes me as a possible indication of her being made up of more than two gems.īut I also considered another theory. Less is possible, but are more? Malachite has three sets of arms. Still, none have more arms than the amount of gems within. ![]() Even Alexandrite had three sets of arms when she was made up of four gems total, as well as Sardonyx and Sugilite, which are both made up of 3 gems but only possess two sets of arms. Some other fusions between two gems only have one set of arms (like Garnet and Rainbow Quartz) and sometimes they have two sets of arms (like Opal) But there never seems to be more sets of arms than gems in the fusion. ![]() And I both agree with it, but also have a side-theory that contradicts it and gives reason for the outcome. It’s a popular theory that already exists. They’re a little spoilery for those who are not caught up to the most recent show, and for those who have not seen up to Jail Break.įirstly, there’s a lot of weight to the possibility that Malachite is a fusion of 3 gems and not 2 ~meaning Jasper is the likeliest fusion, due to her size~ is the fact that Malachite has 3 sets of arms. This is post-SB3 and my theory is in two distinct parts that contradict each other. Why does Malachite have three sets of arms and no legs? Well… ![]()
