We were basically ignored after asking for a moment to study the wine list, despite trying to flag down the many servers on hand (some mostly chatting to each other), so eventually my husband had to get up and go to the bar to order our drinks. This place is one big buffet at different stations in different rooms, so the only thing the servers really do is provide beverages. The one deficit in our experience was the distracted and inconsistent service. The rest of the food was hearty and good, not fine dining but perfectly satisfying. Raclette cheese melted into shallow dishes and garnished as you choose is the centerpiece here and is absolutely delicious - it was a treat just watching the huge wheels of cheese melt beside the fire. The atmosphere at dinner was upbeat and the huge fireplaces throughout the restaurant made the cavernous rooms seem cozier. We took the 15-minute sleigh ride before dinner, which was over too soon but still fast and. As we were staying at the Montage, it was just steps away from the back of the hotel. Highly recommend! It was a wonderful evening and the roaring fireplaces and twinkly lights outside added to the ambience. we also came as soon as it opened to minimize contact with others. ![]() Also because of COVID I was especially concerned about eating inside but tables are well distanced and we were in a smaller room with just one other table and I felt safe. Service for food and drinks was very responsive. So delicious! And of course the chocolate fondue was amazing. We also requested 2nds of the steak tips and short ribs. My grandson loved the prosciutto and our server promptly brought more for him. so large platters of charcuterie and salads and meats but with individual containers of soups etc. instead of self serve they serve everything family style. It’s different this year because of COVID but the experience. We love coming during our Park City ski trips so this was our 3rd or 4th time dining here. Our group of 4 adults and one child had a wonderful dinner last night at Fireside.
